A template determines the way a website looks. A lot of “website builders” use purchased ready-made templates.

Advantage of a purchased template

The advantage of such a template is that you are ready to go in minutes and you don’t have to know much about website building. The templates are cheap and you only have to add your own logo.

Disadvantage of a purchased template

You usually find out about the disadvantages if, after a while, you would like to change some things in the layout. This is usually not easy or not possible at all.  You will then have to find another template that meets your needs. Also the use of custom fields is very difficult, therefor the use is limited.

Occasionally ready-made templates can offer a solution for, for example, small companies with very limited resources.
